Committee Descriptions

You ask to know more. In response to our members’ questions, the board is providing this information about NJSRC committees. The board hopes this will spark interest in your involvement in a committee. Contact us, if you are interested in serving or other information.

Education

The function of this committee is to ensure the availability and quality of continuing education offered by the Society. This committee will fulfill its function by determining educational conference needs, planning, and implementation. The committee will recommend sites for conferences and provide planning and organizational needs. The committee will also interact with vendors and outsourced entities related to the conference.

Communications and Public Relations

This committee concerns itself with NJSRC Newsletter publication and other publications requiring dissemination of information to the membership; include the preparation of exhibits, programs, and other items where such material can be expected to recruit new members. The committee will also have the responsibility of maintaining the society website and promoting respiratory care week.

Elections

The Election Committee’s primary function is to coordinate Board elections. Nominees for executive officer positions must be current or past board members. All nominees for officers are required to have a recent history of service to the NJSRC (i.e., committee chair or member). Biographical information on the officer candidates is collected and compiled by the committee and included in the agenda for the next board meeting. Elections are conducted biennially during odd years.

Government Affairs

This committee is responsible for providing political action on local and national interest. The committee will send at least one committee member to the AARC Capitol Hill event. This committee also monitors the government activities on the state level on issues affecting respiratory care. They make recommendations to the Board on position statements. The committee will also maintain relations with the State Board of Respiratory Care and report back on their activities.

Bylaws

This committee shall review and prepare all amendments to the NJSRC Bylaws.
